About Attorney Paul Spitz
They say that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, but that’s kind of boring if you ask Attorney Paul Spitz. There are plenty of lawyers who finished college, went to law school, started practicing law, and have done nothing else in their careers.
That’s not Paul.
It started that way. Paul went to college at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), then graduated cum laude at Boston University School of Law, and then practiced law for 7 years, mostly in Boston. He was drawn to the intellectual challenges of the law, but at that point, he decided he wanted to see what it was like to be the client, so Paul went back to school and got an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
Then Paul started a coffee and tea import business in San Francisco, and after that he purchased and ran a picture framing franchise. How many lawyers are there that have framed an original Andy Warhol painting of Chairman Mao, or a collection of original conceptual artwork and storyboards from the Star Wars films? And now he’s back to law, running his own firm, and helping startups and entrepreneurs start and run their businesses, so they can take control of their professional lives and achieve financial independence.
Paul loves being a part of the energy that surrounds creating new products and services. His experience running multiple businesses informs his work as a lawyer for his clients. He’s dealt with the same issues as a business owner – making payroll, putting together marketing, finding and leasing space. This gives Paul a much deeper understanding and insight than the average lawyer, who typically focuses only on “what does the statute say.” He focuses on efficient delivery so you can focus your efforts and resources on profits and growing your business.
As an attorney, Paul has worked with companies ranging from start-ups to large international companies, negotiating and structuring agreements to accomplish a company’s goals, on-time, and on-budget. Working in a diverse range of industries including high-tech, marketing, software, consulting, manufacturing and consumer products, his clients receive personal attention for every issue, big or small, because he understands how important every issue can be to a business’s success.
Paul’s process results in a top-level and practical view of a contract or transaction as a whole, allowing him to go deeper for a more detailed review of the contract or transaction once critical issues and topics are identified. This process helps keep total hours worked lower (lower cost and quicker turnaround time) and gives his clients the ability to make a more informed choice about where the focus should be.
Paul has lived in Ann Arbor, Boston, Bloomington, Chicago, Santa Fe, and San Francisco, and now live in Cincinnati, his hometown. He collects photography, plays piano, goes to concerts (classical, jazz, rock, country), reads spy novels and thrillers, and travels when he can.
The reviews from our past and current clients speak volumes:
My experience with Paul was outstanding. I requested him to setup/register LLC for my start-up. Within two days, my Company was registered in Ohio State, and I got the necessary legal documents. He was always there to answer my questions, and he helped me fill the legal forms. His services are affordable, and I highly recommend him. – Sunil
